Project Overview

Western Builders has maintained a long-standing relationship with Glenmeadow, a vibrant retirement community in Longmeadow, MA. After completing the original ground-up construction in the 1990s and returning for interior renovations during the pandemic, Western returned for some new and exciting phase of improvements.

This latest phase includes a full deconstruction and rebuild of the community’s aging pool house, along with renovations and modernization of several key interior common areas. The goal: to revitalize essential gathering spaces while enhancing the resident experience.

Preconstruction & Collaboration

Western provided preconstruction services for nearly a year prior to construction start, collaborating closely with Glenmeadow leadership from the early schematic design phase through construction documentation. Our early involvement helped define the scope, establish budgets, and identify phasing strategies that would support continued operations throughout the project.

Construction & Execution

Mindful of the unique needs of an active retirement community, Western worked hand-in-hand with facility staff to phase the work in a way that minimized disruption. Essential services and common areas remained accessible whenever possible, and construction activities were carefully scheduled with resident comfort and safety in mind.

This resident-first approach ensured that every improvement—from the pool house to the shared spaces—aligned with Glenmeadow’s values and commitment to quality living.
