Educare Springfield

Springfield, MA

In conjunction with local investors and The Davis Foundation, an early childhood education advocate, Western Builders was chosen to construct this 25,820 sq ft early education center on property donated by Springfield College. The center is aimed at the tiniest learners –from birth to five years – and will serve 141 children and their families, selected from the region’s Head Start programs in Springfield, Chicopee, and Holyoke, Massachusetts.

The state-of-the-art facility is one of twenty-five EduCare Centers throughout the nation and will be a laboratory of sorts, sharing resources with local educators about the best methods to help children learn. Their goals are to improve kindergarten readiness, promote vocabulary skills, enrich social and emotional behavior, reduce dropout rates, and promote long-term career success.

Project Manager Lynne Badgett holds her PHIUS Certified Builder certification for Passive House. In addition to being a great leader, Lynne was honored to have been a part of this Educare project and is proud of the outcome, knowing that she is helping underprivileged children get a quality education and prepare for their future.

With a mission to enhance communities, Western Builders was also honored to work on this project, which will restore hope and future promise for the children and families of the area.
