Dietz & Company Architects Office

Springfield, MA

From the day Kerry Dietz started Dietz & Company Architects more than 30 years ago, she wanted to ensure that the work she did would make a difference in the community. Holding a strong belief in rebuilding and rebirth, when it came time to find a larger location for her growing firm, Dietz saw the potential in renovating space at Springfield’s historic Union Station and contracted Western Builders to bring her vision to life.

Dietz & Company Architects was the first tenant to sign at Union Station, a newly redeveloped train station. Incorporating a design-build delivery method, Dietz leaned heavily on Western Builders’ MEP expertise to custom build the new office that accommodates the firm’s 35 employees in roughly 4,000 sf. Paying homage to the history of the building, the new office design features an industrial feel, highlighting the existing bones of the building, exposing pipes, etc. The open concept office includes proprietary finishes such as ashfield stone countertops, angular lighting fixtures, and faux wood paneling on accent walls.

In addition to the new office, Western Builders has had the pleasure to work with Dietz & Company Architects on a number of other projects, including Soldier On veteran housing, UMass Nursing at Tower Square, and Mason-Wright Retirement Community.
