American International College

Founded in 1885, American International College is a private, coeducational, four-year institution located in the geographic center of Springfield, Massachusetts.
From May 2013 through October 2014, Western Builders completed five projects for the college: The Admissions Office, Student Center Auditorium, Adams Hall/ President’s Office, The Alumni Offices and Griswold Theater. The schedules for completing these projects were very tight, with the bulk of the work being performed over the students’ summer and winter breaks. In addition, since each project was a renovation, unforeseen circumstances arose but were addressed and responded to resourcefully.
Along with improvements to the Auditorium, Griswold Theater, and Adams Hall, Western upgraded finishes, lighting, and mechanical systems for the Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions Offices. In partnership with Kuhn Riddle Architects, this “summer slammer” underwent an initial demolition phase and encountered unexpected structural conditions, yet Western Builders was still able to complete the project on schedule for the college.
